What is SOUND AND RELATION
Sound and Relation an Auditum production is a project aimed at studying, propagating and exploiting the contemporary connections between music and all the other forms of creation, both verbal and visual, creation by gesture and movement, the art of being a listener, a viewer, a witness – audience. The idea of linking and bonding is the focus of this project: every civilized human being is creative, every civilized human being is a part of many bonds. Do we listen to, do we see, do we cultivate this process which is a part of ourselves as well as  a part of the cosmos.
   Auditum, French ouie, is the sense of hearing, the fifth sense,  which corresponds to the quintessence. For as touch is to earth Earth, taste to  Water, smell to Air, sigh to Fire, so “hearing belongs to the fifth element, the Word become physically tactilely sensible through sound”. This statement was made by R.A. Schwaller de Lubich, French esoteric and Hermetic philosopher (1887-1961). He also said: “The four senses pass by the brain; but the fifth sense, hearing, passes by the ‘heart’ without speaking directly to the brain.  Hearing is the spiritual sense, which is the  gateway to the intelligence of the Heart.”
   Samples of medieval sacred music , as well as modern works engendered by the dynamics of this giant leap into time will be heard during the first concert of the forthcoming events within the project. The main characteristics of medieval art (narrative simplicity and purity of the expression, lack of stunning formal amplitudes and constant absorption into meaning) turned out to be attractive and inspiring for the participants in this project.

The philosophy of the project, its aims and mission
   Auditum is a musical project concentrated on the activities of creation and performance, on studies and practices. It is aimed at developing and presenting a new diachronic look at modern musical art. What is the state of this art in the context of modernity? Is it alive, and if it is, what are the routes that link it to the stream of life and time? What is the modern emotional and rational temperature of the alchemist furnace of creation?
   We use music as a gateway to a world without frontiers, a world in which we will study and cultivate a new way of perceiving sound, we will create a feeling for unknown sound connections and, first of all, will provoke the active creative thinking of the performers, authors and the audience during the performance, the interpretation and the perception of new works. By presenting new music Auditum will aspire to encourage creating new works by Bulgarian and foreign authors who will have premieres within the concert programs.

Those who are involved
